MILO Houndstooth Gently Flared Belted Trousers

Contrary to the standard design process of a garment, the design for this pair of pants was prompted and inspired by the fabric itself, Although seemingly intended for another purpose, it immediately occurred to us that this material would make for a timeless, elegant pair of gently flared trousers. We began by consulting our private collection to further inform the overall cut of the pants - one that would suit the unique houndstooth fabric grain. Inspired by a pair of 60s belted trousers, we began the process of patterning in conjunction with a local sew shop in Georgia. After many months of pattern adjustments, we ultimately settled on a final pattern that was then scaled to accommodate different sizes. Using old stock buttons, clasps, and 70s Talon 42 zippers,the pants were put into production. Finally, custom recycled tags were hand sewn into the pants.
